Quentin Blake

Biography

Sir Quentin Blake is one of the most globally recognizable illustrators of our time. He was the inaugural Children’s Laureate in 1999, recipient of the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2002, and received a knighthood for his services to children’s literature in 2013. He has been a regular collaborator with Roald Dahl, John Yeoman, Michael Rosen and others, and his artwork continues to delight children and adults alike across the globe.

David Walliams is a children’s author. He published his first novel in 2008 and has since written over forty books for children, including fiction and picture books.

Quentin Blake taught at the Royal College of Art, where he was Head of the Illustration Department before becoming a full time illustrator. He has collaborated with writers such as Russell Hoban, John Yeoman, and most famously Roald Dahl. He has also illustrated classic books for adults and created much-loved characters of his own such as Mr Magnolia and Mrs Armitage.
